John Moawad Jazz Festival
Friday, May 9 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Central Washington University
The CWU John Moawad Jazz Festival is a non-competitive sharing of music between instrumental jazz ensembles is open to all college, high school and middle school jazz bands. Groups will be adjudicated (ratings by request) and given clinics.

Edmonds Jazz Connection is a local festival showcasing some of the best high school jazz programs from throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Ales for the Arts

Enjoy live performances by Edmonds School District jazz groups and musical combos

Bid on unique experiences and items at a mini-silent auction, with all proceeds supporting arts education

Dine for a cause: Epulo Food Truck, Spuds, and Brigid’s Bottle Shop will donate 10% of proceeds, alongside Thai By Day, who will donate 20% of purchases, when customers mention “Save the Arts”

Romeo’s Jazz Night

Students are welcome to come watch and perform.

Ales for the Arts
Saturday, May 31, noon – 9pm, The Boathouse Taproom | Salish Sea Brewing Co. and Gallaghers Where U Brew at Harbor Square

  • Join us for a lively celebration for all ages, with pay-to-play activities that directly benefit arts programs in the Edmonds School District and live performances, featuring:
    • Live performances by Edmonds School District Bands
    • Showstopping sets by local favorites, The Unknown Legends, and Club Clover, the Meadowdale High Alumni Band
    • Family-friendly Root beer Garden
    • An exciting art activity provided by Graphite Arts Center. All art created by children will be auctioned between 5pm and 8pm.
    • Pay-to-play interactive games including Hula Hoop Keg Toss, Root beer Pong, and Bean Bag Toss that raise money for an excellent cause.
  • Don’t miss “Lyric Lager,” a special brew from Salish Brewing Co., will be available at Brigid’s Bottle Shop, Salish Brewing Co., and Gallagher’s Where U Brew. One Hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit arts education in the Edmonds School District.

Spring Jazz Night: Jazz Punishments Big Band at Aurora Borealis

Jazz Punishments Big Band is a group of young lions from the Northwest Jazz Scene that are carrying the torch for the majestic legacy of the big band tradition.

Mattress Sale Fundraiser
Sunday, June 1, 10am – 5pm, EWHS Great Hall
The EWHS Music Boosters are excited to host our Sixth Annual Mattress Sale Fundraiser. Our Annual Mattress Sale is not just about finding the perfect mattress; it is also an opportunity to support the talented students of the EWHS Music Department. This event will directly benefit our programs, providing additional funding for special guest coaches, instrument purchases and maintenance, field trips, competition expenses, uniforms, and so much more. Congratulations to all of our EWHS Jazz Ensemble Students who attended the 58th Annual Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival on April 17-19. Watch performances from the event on our YouTube channel. Winners included:

  • Oren Kaushansky – outstanding solo piano

Runner Up in these divisions:

  • Jazz Ensemble 2 – Way to go youngblood!
  • Warrior Combo – Logan Ignatenko, Jon Badier, Nate Coons, Oren Kaushansky and Gavin Bunbury
  • Leo Nakamura – trombone solo
