My name is Ashley Giri and I am so excited to be the new Orchestra Director at EWHS. As a proud alumna of the Edmonds School District, it is my absolute honor to get to work with all of you. I am looking forward to creating wonderful music together in the year ahead.
Before coming to EWHS, I have been the Orchestra Director at Alderwood Middle School since 2019, and taught 5th & 6th grade Orchestra at Oak Heights, Spruce, Lynnwood, Hazelwood, Hilltop, and Martha Lake over the past 8 years. I grew up in Lynnwood, and graduated from LHS before going on to study Instrumental Music Education at Central Washington University. I am primarily a bassist, and currently play as a section member with the Everett Philharmonic. I currently serve as the President of the Sno-King Region of WMEA. I also coach bass with the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra’s Prelude Orchestra, and conduct the Sinfonette Orchestra with Cascade Youth Symphony. I have a Ragdoll cat named Simon, and a Great Pyrenees dog named Daisy. Outside of my love for music and teaching, I love to travel, eat delicious food, and support all Seattle sports teams (my husband and I are season ticket holders for the Seattle Sounders).
