Dear Parents, Guardians, and Other Important Adults,
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! Whether your student is in choir, band, or orchestra,
we are all focused on the musical success of your student, and that makes you an automatic
member of the music boosters!
My name is Penelope Wright, and I’m the new president of the music boosters this year. Sadly,
Toni Bosman, who many of you probably know, had to step down over the summer to help take
care of her ill mother, but she is still an active member of the music boosters and looks forward
to taking a leadership position again in the future! On behalf of our board, I wanted to say
hello, and thank you for supporting music at Edmonds Woodway High School.
It has been a strange last couple of years, as we all know, but we are poised for an incredible
year of live concerts, festivals, field trips, and fundraising.
With parents allowed back into the buildings now, we will have a table at the in-person
curriculum night planned for September 28th. Stop by and say hello!
As we move through the year, we will be meeting frequently to plan how best to support your
students, and we hope you will join us at one or more meetings to give us your thoughts, ideas,
and feedback. We always have volunteer opportunities, and we would love to get to know you.
We’re holding our first general meeting of the year in person on Tuesday, October 4th at 7:30 pm
at EWHS and we’d love to see you there! There will also be a zoom option for those who would
like to come but can’t attend in person.
We have two fundraising events coming up, so mark your calendars! Our mattress sales event is
back again this year and will be held on Saturday, October 29th from 10 am to 5 pm at the school.
We’ll also have our popular citrus sale fundraiser again. Orders will be due November 15th and
pickup is the week of December 12-17th.
Thank you again for your support of musical education, and the lifelong skills your student is
gaining through their involvement in the Edmonds Woodway High School music program.
